I use an event marker and valuable rewards to teach wanted behaviors.
As a Karen Pryor Certified Training Partner, I am crazy about clicker training. Here's why:
  • It speeds up the learning process : Unlike your voice (which your dog might learn to ignore), the unique click always means, "Yes, that's right! You've won" and never needs to be analyzed.
  • It strengthens the human-animal bond : Your dog will associate you with the high rates of reinforcement and the fun he has while training. You will begin to see your dog for who he is and what he is capable of - leading to less frustration and more cooperation. 
  • It produces long-term results : What is learned with a clicker won't be forgotten and won't deteriorate unless you intentionally/unintentionally train for it. Responses  become natural and automatic.
  • It encourages creativity and initiative : Learners are confident and are more willing to try new things because new things are very rewarding.
  • Its a very forgiving training method : If you mess up, the worst that can happen is your dog gets a few treats for free and you get to laugh at yourself.
  • It creates enthusiastic learners : Creating a safe learning environment and using reinforcement that is valuable to the learner is extremely motivating.

Here, the principles of clicker training (using an event marker and positive reinforcement) are used to train a goldfish to swim through a hoop in his environment.
I DO NOT use anything that a dog might dislike to modify behavior.

Text or call me! Different needs call for different pricing. We will meet for 6-10 sessions depending on how much you work with your dog and how well I communicate the info.  Negotiations and payment plans may be discussed. Your happiness and your dog's well-being are my priority. If you are motivated and eager to learn, I will keep providing my guidance as much as I can. Nothing is more rewarding to me than a motivated owner.

I have found that one of the main reasons frustrated dog owners don't get the help they need is the outrageous price that's normally attached to the service. But I will work with you! Even if you don't hire me, I'd still be happy to email you information that relates to your needs.
